Marylyn was taught dance by her mother JACKIE PALMER and her training in dance and drama continued at The Place; New College of Speech and Drama.
Her acrobatic coach was a Hungarian Circus Acrobat.
Qualifications: AIDTA; ADB; LRAM (specialising in Mime).
Marylyn won many festivals as a child and appeared in show all over the country. As an adult Marylyn combined her BBC Radio career in production with that of being a professional choreographer working on pantomimes, tv shows including Junior Showtime and in 1977 the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Celebration at Windsor.
In l971 Marylyn started the Jackie Palmer Stage School with her mother. Alongside this Marylyn runs JPA ASSOCIATES incorporating JACKIE PALMER AGENCY; JP YOUNG PERFORMERS and the adult agency JPA MANAGEMENT. Jackie Palmer Stage School moved to a brand newly renovated building in the centre of High Wycombe in 2013 and with its dance studios; drama and singing rooms; as well as access to editing suites for both sound and video, it has now also become home to JP ACADEMY (a full time school for 16 – 18 year olds). During this time Marylyn has produced many shows and seeing how well the students develop by doing these shows has now moved to the next stage. Along with Jo Hawes who she met while Jo was working in Stage Management at Theatre Royal Windsor, Marylyn is now opening the doors to THE REP COMPANY – whose aim is Training Through Performance and is using the tried and tested formula of the original rep company system.
